I want to post something memorable today. Why today? Because, folks, today is technically my first Language and Drama class. Well, we cant count ice-breaking session at the tesl square as a class right. so, we have the three weeks classes covered already(yay!).
The class is fun. It was kinda like a camp but not exactly it. The one who taught us of course Mr AD, her beloved (of course its hard for me to remember her name but she is sooo CUTE!), brother Zack and brother Pe (i dont know his real name, that is the name which all my friend call him). Seriously, when i know that the seniors would taught us, i get this hard feelings. i dont really have a good relationship with seniors in high school. Maybe because they think that i'm noisy. However, after 7 hours having 'fun' with them, i dont really think having senior as a tutor could be that bad. Especially Zack. Want to know why? Let me tell you my whole experience.
At the first session of the class which is 9 till 1, Mr Adlan explained to us about drama. What is the meaning of drama. What is the stage called. Are the audiences who watch drama really are called audience. Well, lets recalled, What is drama? the answer is, i dont remember. When sir Adlan explained it to me, i dont get to grab my book and pen. Sorry. However, what i remember is that Sir Adlan didn't gave us the definition He gave us some example. Drama is when you lied to your parents. When you yelled at your friend because of their insensitivity. When you sulking all alone because of the unfinished homework. Yes, drama is people life. That is what i remember. Correct me if i wrong.
Next, What is the real name for stage? Well, there were a lot of assumption and all wrong until i answered 'it is a place where people want to get attention'. Sir AD was like ' thats the nearest assuption' and someone said 'place to perform. Finally, he revealed the answer 'perform space'. something like that. As always, i dont have a very good memory.
Then, what is the name for those who watch people perform? well, all the answer that we gave are audience, spectators and so on. We cannot get the answer until sir AD asked us the next question. 'what is the so-called-audience do when watching the drama?'. After that Jiha said the keyword. 'Interact'.. What does its means? its means that the audience also the performers because they interact with the performers. Okay, i'll stop babbling about the theory.
We continued the class with unexpected activities. Mr AD taught us to DANCE!! weird right. Trust me, there is nothing weird when it comes to Mr AD. : )
Firstly, he taught us few moves and finally combined it into one dancing choreography. It was really fun. We have some kind of dancing battle where we were separated into three groups and i get to group with Arnold, Ika, Hanan and Ani. Our facilitator was abg Pi. I get the front position on the right with Arnold and Hanan. Something about asked to be beside Arnold when it comes to dancing is challenging. I'm not someone who can stay calm when a person do better that me. I become more 'grooved up' when the battle begin. When my friend asked me why i become so active all of sudden there will be only one answer. 'its Arnold thing.' The purpose of the activity is to make us more into the character and in this case is dancer. It is similar to lose yourself in a character when acting.
At 1 pm, we have our lunch break and pray. The class continued one hour later. What interesting about the second session of the class was we got to know a special person, Nikki. Why special? because she the one who acted as the enchanter for spiritual ritual theater during Labrat 2.0. The class began with her performance. Cant stop laughing when she drag Alif with him. Hahaha.. After the performance, we gathered around and asked her question. Actually, the spiritual ritual thingy is not about calling ghost or scaring people. Its about our life when there are four element involved which are Earth, Water, Wind and Fire. Those element surrounding the neutral element, in this case is Nikki, and make the element act according those four. Well, i dont quite get the idea.
Next, Sir Adlan and seniors gave us some shows on other theater such as Shout!, Sing, anti-reality and a theater that i forgot the name. Its really fun cause the theater full of emotion and humour.
As the show finished, Madi, Ani, Puteri, Amira and me have our dinner at KFC. A nice day to be remember.. :D
